Curriculum and Instruction
"Let my teaching fall like rain and my words come down like dew, like raindrops on new grass, like rain on tender plants." Deuteronomy 32:2
STREAMLINE Christian Academy provides a strong biblical foundation through daily bible stories, crafts, and modeling an honest, kind, loving lifestyle. In addition, our curriculum reflects on the acronym, "STREAMLINE":
For preschoolers, science is just an extension of their everyday world. Research shows that most children have formed a positive or negative opinion of science by the age of 7. Our students wonder, discover, and explore science through daily hands on science toys, lessons, and monthly science experiments!
When you hear technology, you think digital technology. However, our technology aspect means our students are using their critical thinking skills and objects presented to accomplish a given objective.
A strong phonics foundation is necessary for students before entering Kindergarten. We use Core Knowledge which offers a strong foundation including letter recognition, sound correlation, and proper letter foundation, through engaging lessons and different learning styles!
Through the use of organized materials, our students are encouraged to apply their math and science knowledge to invent, design, and build.
With a focus on the fine motor skills needed for successful Kindergarten entrance, we use a wide variety of tools including scissors, finger painting, shaving cream, crayons, colored pencils, glue, and more!
Building off of the world renowned Singapore Math curriculum, our preschool class uses Kindergarten Book A as a guide, and our Pre-K class uses book B. Math is instructed using manipulatives and hands on learning objects.
Some students are visual learners, some are auditory learners, some are kinesthetic. Our program is geared towards meeting the needs of all preschoolers.
Studies show that children can learn up to 7 languages natively and fluently if you introduce it before the age of 7! Through our international studies program, we introduce languages, cultures, and customs monthly, including Chinese and Spanish languages!
N-Nutrition and Exercise
Healthy eating and gross motor development are critical factors in a child's well-being, and are integrated into the curriculum and daily learning at STREAMLINE Christian Academy!
E-Emotional and Social Learning (SEL)
The most important aspect of a strong preschool foundation are the necessary skills such as the ability to communicate their needs and feelings effectively, asking for help, managing their behaviors and regulating their emotions. Research shows that children with a strong SEL foundation have a lower rate of problematic behavior when older. Character building, teamwork, sharing and social responsibility are just a few examples of our SEL aspect of the program!
