Cultivating Kindness

At Streamline, we emphasize the value of inclusion, acceptance, and kindness.

We integrate our students’ diverse cultures and ethnicities into our curriculum. This an opportunity for children to learn about cultures differing from their own and what makes them unique.

Each month we implement a “Charity Challenge”. These are initiatives or acts of selflessness that we work towards and discuss throughout the month.

For example, one of the highlights of our week is watching the trash men come by on Tuesdays. Our class talked about the importance of showing gratitude and kindness and we put this message into action by baking our trash men cookies!

Lessons such as this emphasize the value of giving as well as the value in expressing recognition of someone else’s hard work.

Through our "Cultivating Kindness" initiative, we strive to instill values of love and kindness that our students will carry with them long past their preschool years.

How this sets us apart: Not only are we discussing cultural diversity which is rarely discussed at the preschool level, but we are also providing our children the tools to know how to turn these lessons into action. We show our students that it is not only important to see the value and beauty in one another, but to find ways to acknowledge these qualities as well.

"The fruit of the Holy Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." Galatians 5:22-23
